Two dozen Nigerian-born Young Scholars Released After Eight Days Following Kidnapping

Approximately twenty-four Nigerian girls who were abducted from a boarding school more than seven days back are now free, the country's president confirmed.

Gunmen invaded the Government Girls Comprehensive Senior Secondary School in Nigeria's local province on 17 November, taking the life of an employee while capturing multiple pupils.

Head of state the president praised security forces regarding their "immediate reaction" following the event - while precise conditions of the girls' release remained unclear.

Africa's most populous nation has witnessed multiple incidents of captures over the past few years - including over 250 children abducted from religious educational institution days ago yet to be located.

In a statement, an appointed consultant within the government verified that all the girls abducted from learning institution within the region had returned safely, mentioning that the incident sparked similar abductions in two other local territories.

The president said that additional forces would be deployed in sensitive locations to stop additional occurrences related to captures".

Through another message through social media, Tinubu stated: "Military aviation will continue constant observation throughout isolated territories, coordinating activities alongside land forces to accurately locate, isolate, disturb, and counteract all hostile elements."

More than fifteen hundred students have been abducted from Nigerian schools over the past decade, when multiple young women were taken hostage amid the infamous Chibok mass abduction.

On Friday, no fewer than three hundred students and employees were abducted from an educational institution, a Catholic boarding school, in Nigeria's local province.

Several dozen people taken from the school managed to get away as reported by faith-based groups - but at least 250 remain unaccounted for.

The main Catholic cleric across the territory has mentioned that the administration is undertaking "no meaningful effort" to recover those still missing.

This kidnapping at the school was the third impacting the country over recent days, forcing President Bola Tinubu to postpone his trip to the G20 summit taking place in the African country recently to address the situation.

United Nations representative the official urged the international community to try everything possible" to help measures to bring back kidnapped youths.

Brown, ex-British leader, commented: "We also have responsibility to make certain learning facilities are safe spaces for education, instead of locations where youths can be plucked from learning environments through unlawful means."
